AbstractGiven the constrained display area of mobile devices, existing desktop-oriented web contents would be a mismatch for these devices if there is not a mechanism to suitably adapt the contents. In this paper, we propose a content analysis module which is at the core of a content adaptation architecture. This relationship-aware content analysis module parses a structured web document originally intended for the desktop to transform it into a form that is best suited for rendering in a constrained mobile device. The transformation also provides the user with the best content value for an adapted web page while preserving content integrity. We have built a prototype to demonstrate the viability of our approach. © 2005 IEEE.
