AbstractThe substitution of Mn with Mg in LaMn1-xMgxO3 strongly affects the magnetic properties at low temperature and the crystal structure of the LaMn1-xMgxO3 system. Sample displays weak ferromagnetic at low temperature when x≤0.08, and the spin-glass state was observed at low temperature when x≥0.18; the existance of nonferromagnetic Mg2+ ions in perovskite B site is an important factor for magnetic behavior at low temperature of LaMn1-xMgxO3 samples. Magnetic ordered temperature and spin frozen temperature monotonously decrease with the increase of Mg-substitution.
