AbstractA solid extraction/GC method was established to determine the contents of saturates and aromatics in diesel fraction prior to cutting the fraction from wide-boiling cuts. The suitable conditions of solid extraction, chromatographic separation, and the way of integration were obtained using the liquid resultant from a FCC pilot plant test. The classical column separation method was used to validate the solid extraction/GC method. They were in good agreement. Since the amount of sample required for this method was minimum, it could be used to determine the contents of saturates and aromatics in the diesel fraction of liquid sample received by microactivity test.
