AbstractAccording to laminar premixed combustion model and flame stability conditions, an on-line flame propagation velocity measurement system is introduced with image processing techniques. A still flame image is grabed by compute image-card. The flame edge is obtained after image noise filter and edge abstract, then the flame propagation surface dimension and flame propagation velocity can be calculated. This is a non-contact measurement technique, which can be used in laminar flame combustion mechanism research.
