AbstractThis paper investigates and compares the language education for the mentally handi-capped children in China and Hong Kong SAR. The areas compared incjude language education aims, plan, teaching material, method and personnel. These factors affect the language of the mentally handicapped children in different ways. The findings indicate that the language education aims, contents and methods are similar in China and Hong Kong. However, some items such as language education concepts and teaching materials are different. We hope such comparison will enhance our understanding of language education of mentally handicapped children in Ch:.na and Hong Kong. 本文對大陸和香港的弱智兒童語言教育目標、教育計劃、教材、教育 手段、教育人員構成等直接影響弱智兒童語言教育的相關因素進行了初步的 比較。結果顯示,兩地在弱智兒童語言教育的大目標和主要教育內容、教育 手段等諸方面大致相同,但在某些具體項目,如語言教育理念、教材等方面有 所區別,各有所長。我們希望,通過此研究加強大陸與香港兩地同行間的溝 通與互助,做到相互借鑒,以取他人之長補我輩之不足,最終達到共同進步。
