AbstractA modified AFLP (amplified fragment length polymorphism) technique is described. Fluorescence-labelled primers were used in the selective amplifications. The amplified fragments were detected on denaturing polyacrylamide gels using an automated ALF DNA sequencer with the fragment option. The modified AFLP technique avoids the use of isotopes or silver staining, but gives a much higher resolution than other AFLP detection systems.
