AbstractThe presence of the thermal force on flux induced by temperature gradient across the superconducting sample is known to have an important effect on flux dynamics. In this paper, we present a theory of linear ac response for mixed state superconductors in the presence of thermal force for the first time. The rf surface impedance and ac susceptibility are derived analytically within the appropriate approximation. The theory is expected to have applicability to experiments involving the thermomagnetic effect. © 1994.
