AbstractThe morphology of the polyethylene terephthalates/polyamide6 (PET/PA) composite fibers was discussed. The tensile properties of the extrudates was evaluated. Scanning electron microscopy was used for the purpose of analysis. Results show that the PET fibers are generally clean and smooth, and the PET/PP interface is weak due to incompatability of the polymers. The PA6 domains were found to exhibit a rough surface, which is probably a result of lamellar growth of the crystalline polymer.
