AbstractThe first paper on finite strip analysis of structures was published by Cheung in the late 1960s. Since then, many more papers have been published and they have demonstrated that the finite strip method has higher efficiency than the finite element method as a smaller number of degrees of freedom are involved in the solution. As a recently published book by Cheung and Tham has reported a comprehensive review on papers published before 996, the present article will focus mainly on the publications in the past three years but references are also made to some key papers published earlier.
