AbstractRuthenium nitrosonaphthol complexes incorporating pendant pyridyl ligands of trans- and cis-[Ru{η2-N(O)C10H6O}2(CO)(NC5H4CHCHC5H4N)] (1a and 1b) and trans- and cis-[Ru{η2-OC10H6N(O)}2(CO)(NC5H4CHCHC5H4N)] (1c and 1d) were synthesized and used as building blocks in the construction of a supramolecular system. The molecular structures of 1b and the NMe3 substitution complex cis-[Ru{η2-N(O)C10H6O}2(CO)(NMe3)] (2b) were established by X-ray diffraction analysis.
