AbstractWhile road pricing was originally advocated for its potential to benefit private car travel, this paper explores the feasibility of using road pricing to benefit public bus travel. A simulation model is employed to predict the consequences of implementing road pricing in a car-bus network. Using a simple network, it is shown that a suitably designed road pricing scheme can enable bus operators improve quality of service to passengers without increasing the operation cost.
