AbstractA central-force model with the next-nearest-neighbor interaction is studied using a series-expansion technique on a honeycomb lattice. The bulk modulus exponent is calculated and found to be fB=3.96±0.01. This value is very close to the bulk modulus exponent for the bond-bending model fB=3.96±0.04, calculated by Zabolitzky and co-workers using a transfer-matrix technique on the same lattice. Our calculation suggests that these two models are in the same universality class. © 1996 The American Physical Society.
