Abstract | This research investigates the issue about how digitalization drives the development of energy revolution in China focusing on four dimensions: energy consumption, energy production, energy technology and energy system reform. First, I summarized the literature according to the role of digital revolution in energy consumption, production, technology and system reform, respectively. Second, I developed the theoretical model of how the digital revolution influences the energy revolution from these four dimensions. Third, I collected the data in Chinese energy industry and empirically tested the threshold effect of digitalization on energy industry structure, which found the significant role of digitalization in driving the reform of energy consumption and adjustment of energy supply structure. Fourth, I studied the effect of digitalization on energy power technology development from the perspective of local energy industry network. Finally, I studied the effect of digitalization on energy structure revolution from the perspective of corporate management innovation. This research combined the qualitative and quantitative method to investigate and analyze the role of digitalization in the development of energy revolution, which provides theoretical contribution and empirical evidence to the integration of digital and energy industry in China, as well as practical implication to the information management to energy firms.
