AbstractRatio spectro-derivative spectrophotometry was used for the simultaneous determination of Fe, Cu and Zn in aluminium alloy. In pH 5.5 buffer solution, the overlapped spactra of Me-2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol(5-Br-PADAP)-OP complexes can be resolved by the method for the determination. The recovery of synthetic sample is in the range of 97.3%∼104.4% (n = 5). The relative standard deviations for the determination of Fe, Cu, Zn in aluminium alloy were 3.7%, 1.4% and 2.0% (n = 6) respectively.
