AbstractThe subwavelength imaging quality of a metamaterial superlens was examined numerically in the wave vector domain. A key function of the metalens was to transmit the lateral field component of an object at a large spatial frequency kxwith enhanced amplitude. Analysis showed that to further improve the resolution limit in the superlens, a surrounding medium with dielectric function ε> 1 should be considered.
