| Abstract | The effect of vortex breakers of different configurations on the flow structures within an air jet is described. Besides the effect on the mean and fluctuating properties of the flow, its effect on the pressure fluctuations inside the jet has also been investigated. In addition to the change in the overall pressure level, the spectral contents of the pressure fluctuations are affected by the presence of the vortex breakers. This involves both a change in the peak level and a shift in the peak frequency of the jet vortices. The findings are compared with those of undisrupted jet. |
