Abstract | Music teaching is different from other academic subjects. It consists of skills development, knowledge acquisition and music appreciation. A better understanding of Web 2.0 usage pattern of the music teaching in Hong Kong is necessary to enable music educators to develop a more effective teaching environment. Survey will be carried out by means of an online questionnaire and also qualitative semi-structured interviews with some of the teachers, students and parents in the field. Web 2.0 usage patterns for teaching will be studied and compared with the Suzuki Method, especially for instrument teaching. The acceptance of related technology of the key stakeholders will also being reviewed. Whether the Web 2.0 technologies can act as new channels for private instructors to promote their business will be explored. |
