AbstractThe femoral arteries of Sprague-Dawley rats were anastomosed using microsurgical techniques. On one side, the artery was bathed in 2% lignocaine while the other side was used as a control. The changes in the external diameter of the femoral arteries showed that vasodilatation occurred after anastomosis in the control group. The addition of lignocaine cannot further dilate the arteries.
