AbstractWe show that electrons (or holes) added to a commensurate charge density wave insulator can bind to form bipolaron states. Bose condensation of these bipolarons may occor at relatively high temperatures. This mechanism may be relevant for some metal oxide compounds, such as Ba1-xKxBiO3. © 1987.
