| Abstract | Reaction of K[AuCl4] with H2L [H2L = 2,2′-bis(2-pyridylcarboxyamide)-1,1′-binaphthyl] in methanol gave the complex [Au(HL)Cl2], which has been shown to exhibit room-temperature emission in solid state. The X-ray crystal structure of the complex has been determined. The crystal consists of pairs of [Au(HL)Cl2] molecules with the shortest intermolecular AuAu separation being 3.72 Å. © 1994. |
