AbstractImmunoreactive antithrombin III was demonstrated in fresh endothelial cells isolated from human umbilical cord. After a 7 days' culture, antithrombin III was present in the culture medium as well as in the cells. It is concluded that antithrombin III is probably synthesized in and liberated from endothelial cells.
