Landscapes of infrastructure and resources connect the city to its geography. Urban regions are the result of urbanization that exists as a continuum traversing various conditions of density, human occupation, and the built environment. This project seeks to understand the resources, systems, and ecologies that support the growth of cities such as Chengdu and Hong Kong through the lens of two everyday products-bottled water and soybean milk. The production of these items reveal an intricate web of political, economic and ecological impacts that expand the geography of cities to a global scale, necessitating negotiations for territory, power, and natural resources. The project narrates the complex networks that sustain the cities of Chengdu and Hong Kong through drawings and an interactive installation where visitors negotiate for the resources of daily life.
