AbstractWe discuss various criteria of probabilistic load balancing in heterogeneous distributed systems. In particular, we show how to find a probabilistic load distribution such that one of the following conditions is satisfied: (1) All nodes have the same mean number of tasks; (2) All nodes have the same mean waiting queue length; (3) All nodes have the same mean response time; (4) All nodes have the same mean waiting time.
