AbstractA fast approach for the large-signal simulation of switched-mode power converters in the presence of both large-signal step changes and perturbations is presented. The concept of this approach is to formulate a global model describing the dynamical behavior of the switched-mode converter. By employing symbolic computation technique, the time-domain solution can be obtained in a closed form, which allows for fast and accurate simulation. The time-efficiency of the proposed approach has been verified by comparing with the PSpice simulation. The simulation can also be extended to obtain an output frequency response of the converter due to large-signal perturbations.
