AbstractCorrelation and multiple-regression analysis were used to investigate controls on stormwater chemistry in a small upland stream. The results reveal a close association between streamflow and pipeflow water chemistry. Rainfall and throughfall do not appear to exert much influence on water chemistry for most determinands. Consequently, direct precipitation or throughfall on the stream channel does not appear to be a major source of runoff. Hydrologic variables, especially baseflow preceding the rainstorm also exert some control on streamwater chemistry in this small sub-tropical upland basin.
