AbstractThis paper discusses the various means of describing the curved surfaces of objects with geometric modelling techniques used in many contemporary CAD/CAM systems. The data input aspects for surface modelling are presented. Ways of evaluating the Numerical Control (NC) tool paths of these complex shapes are also described for subsequent computer aided manufacturing on Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines.
