| Abstract | In this paper, two simple regression models are developed for estimating the average output rate of series production systems with interstage storage. The service-time distributions are assumed to be exponential. Extensive computational results are presented to illustrate the performance of the models. It is shown that the results obtained from the models developed in this paper compare favorably with the results given by Hillier and Boling for production systems operating under the same conditions. |
