AbstractA variety of Multiple-Mode-Resonator (MMR) based bandpass filters with stepped-impedance or stub-loaded non-uniform configurations for ultra-Wide-Band (UWB) transmission systems has been discussed. The filter consists of a low impedance line section in the center and two identical high-impedance line sections on the two sides. These filters features a simple design, compact size, low loss and good linearity in the UWB, enhanced out-of-band rejection, and easy integration with other circuits/antennas. The Parallel-Coupled Microstrip Line (PCML) has been widely used in the design of multistage bandpass filters. The MMR-based UWB filters exhibit a good UWB passband and compact overall size. This MMR-based UWB bandpass filter can be realized by utilizing other resonant modes, such as the first two, three, or four resonant modes of a constituted MMR.
