AbstractThe interband optical transition rate is calculated by using a representation in which the applied electric field appears as a time-dependent vector potential term in the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for nonstationary states. The result of the total transition rate is found to be coincided with those calculations in which the electric field appears as a time-independent potential term. © 1971.
