AbstractThe coefficient of two-photon absorption by excitons is calculated for a two-band model of a solid in the presence of a uniform electric field. In particular, we consider the p-exciton bound states. It is shown that the two-photon absorption by excitons is dependent, in a very different way from one-photon absorption, on the applied electric field. © 1972.
