Abstract | The synthesis of luminescent Cy 3PAu(C≡C) nAuPCy 3 complexes (n = 3,4) was presented. the complexes featured the dinuclear gold(I) complexes bridged by C 6 2- and C 8 2- rods. The compounds revealed highly vibronic acetylenic 3(ππ*) excited states, due to Au spin-orbital coupling. The absorption band for the π → π* transition was significantly red-shifted when compared to the lowest-energy dipole-allowed transition of the P(C≡C) 4R (R = CN, tBu) series. |
