AbstractCord serum and colostrum immunoglobulin levels for Sri Lankan women of low socioeconomic status are reported. The mean values were: cord IgG 175 ±51 IU/ml, colostrum IgA 721 ±278 IU/ml and colostrum IgN 232±84 IU/ml. Cord IgA and IgM were detected in 9 out of 61 cases. The cord serum IgG levels were found to be influenced by the placental weight.
