Abstract | Based on the findings of non-linear finite element analysis, a plastic theory of integral infilled frames is proposed, in which the stress redistribution toward collapse and the shear strength at the infill/frame interface are taken into account. The theory is applicable to both single story and multi-story integral infilled frames, and comparison with experimental results gives good agreement. Design recommendations for multi-storey integral infilled frames are given. |
