AbstractA 4∏-X 4∑ - transitions, (0,0), (0,1) and (0,2) of MoN between 5990-6330 Å have been studied using wavelength-resolved laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy. MoN was produced by reacting vaporized MoCl 5 with microwave discharged N 2 gas. The ground state X 4∑ - vibrational constants ω e and ω ex e of different isotopic molecules have been determined. ω e (cm -1) is 1059.2, 1057.0, 1055.8, 1053.7, 1052.5, and ω ex e (cm -1) is 4.8, 4.7, 4.7, 4.5, 4.4, for 92MoN, 94MoN, 96MoN, 98MoN, 100MoN, respectively. © 1994.
