AbstractThe stress integration algorithm for hypoelastic constitutive equations proposed by Pinsky et al.3 is extended for the treatment of finite deformation elastoplastic constitutive relations. Another approach based on the polar decomposition of the deformation gradient tensor F = R · U is also introduced. Numerical examples and a discussion on these two approaches are given.
