AbstractThis paper reviews some major effects of electronic drive related harmonics in supply systems and machine drives, and discusses some control techniques for the minimisation of harmonics. The deterioration of the harmonic pollution problem due to the increasing use of power electronic equipment is first discussed. Both traditional and modern power electronics based harmonic control techniques for the supply systems and machines are then described.
