AbstractInformation technology has already revolutionised pharmacovigilance by introducing ADROIT, the GPRD and the MEMO, and there is no doubt that these databases will continue to develop and provide better information for the regulatory authorities, manufacturers and health professionals on the risks and benefits of medical interventions. None of the pharmacovigilance methods is ideal; however, they all complement each other and working together will achieve the goal of safe use of medicines.
