Different view on 'meridian system'

Abstract

This paper theoretically discussed the actual content of the 'Meridian System'. Since the major function of the 'Meridian System' is to move the 'Qi' and Blood, the channel which the 'Qi' and Blood pass by must be mid-empty. Therefore the 'Meridian System' should not include the Twelve Muscle Regions and the Twelve Cutaneous Regions, but by the Twelve Meridians, Eight Extra-meridians, Twelve Divergent Meridians, Fifteen Collaterals, Tiny Collaterals, Float Collaterals and Qi Streets, Four Seas, which are mid-empty in the structure.

從理論上探討了'經絡系統'一詞的實際內涵。認為'經絡系統'的主要功能是運行氣血,因此其組成部分必須都是中空的結構。提出'經絡系統'不應該包括十二經筋和十二皮部,而是由十二經脈、奇經八脈、十二經別、十五絡脈、孫絡、浮絡和氣街、四海等中空的結構共同組成。
