Abstract | Compressive and flexural behavior and properties of hydroxyapatie/ polyethylene (HA/PE) composite were investigated. It was found that the compressive modulus and flexural modulus of the composite increased with an increase in HA volume percentage. Tensile and flexural moduli were found to be greater than compressive modulus, which in turn was greater than torsional modulus for composite with same HA content. Reinforcement characteristics significantly influenced the properties of the composite. It was also found that debonding between HA and PE takes place when composite fractured in bending. |
