AbstractRecently the `positons' have been introduced as new exact solutions for unidirectional wave propagation in nonlinear media. In this work positons are derived for nonlinear evolution equations for shallow water waves with three dimensional effects. In particular a train of algebraically decaying waves is obtained in the far field.
