Biography

Dr Mohammed Nadeem Bijle is a Specialist Paediatric Dentist with specialist qualifications being awarded the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Paedodontics & Preventive Dentistry in 2012 and then subsequently a Fellowship from the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (a Pioneering Fellow) and Tri-collegiate Diploma of Specialty Membership in Paediatric Dentistry (M Paed Dent) by the administering college, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK & Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow in 2023 by examination. Dr Bijle has recently been elevated to the Fellowship of the Faculty of Dental Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, UK by a thorough assessment. He is registered as a Specialist Paediatric Dentist with the Dental Council of India, Ministry of Health and Prevention, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Dubai Health Authority. To date, Dr Bijle has supervised treatments and treated several patients in teaching institutes and private clinics. His clinical interests are preventative treatments for paediatric patients and pulp therapy in primary teeth.

Dr Bijle is currently working as a Post-doctoral Fellow in Paediatric Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Hong Kong (HKU). His research interests are biotic strategies in caries prevention and paediatric oral health. He has 35 high-quality impact factor scientific publications to his credit of which for 25 papers he is the first author. With an h-index of 19 and around 1000 citations received for peer-reviewed papers, Dr Bijle signifies an outstanding interest in his field of research. Dr Bijle has been awarded several research awards by HKU, the International Association for Dental Research, and Student Competition Advancing Dental Research and its Application, USA – Dentsply Sirona which are highly reputed internationally recognized institutions. For his PhD research work, Dr Bijle was awarded the 2019-20 Outstanding Research Postgraduate Student Award and L P Samaranayake Award for Research Excellence at HKU. He is currently working on several funded research projects with experts aligned globally and investigators from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the USA.

Immediately after his MDS, Dr Bijle started his academic career. With more than 10 years of experience as a clinical academician in Paediatric Dentistry in countries like India, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, and UAE, Dr Bijle has shared his clinical and research expertise with several undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has a consistent teaching philosophy aimed at evidence-based paediatric dentistry and problem-based learning which gives a very comprehensive oversight to learners while disseminating the emerging concepts in dentistry. His lifetime objectives are to achieve excellence in clinical academia with a vision of liaising with internationally stipulated benchmarks that drive him to continuously strive for the betterment of society.
