Dr Thibodeau, Benoit
I am a geoscientist specialized in stable isotopes and trace metals applied to the fields of environmental sciences, biogeochemical oceanography, paleoceanography and global changes.
I study natural systems over short and long time scales, from the tropics to the Arctic. My specific research themes include: marine nitrogen cycling, eutrophication and hypoxia in coastal ecosystems, coral reef biogeochemistry, paleo-productivity and trace metal contamination. My expertise on stable isotopes includes classic methods (δ13C and δ15N of organic matter, δ13C and δ18O of calcareous material) but also cutting-edge techniques to measure δ15N and δ18O of dissolved nitrate, δ15N of dissolved organic nitrogen and compound specific isotopes.
