Dr Alex LK Ng 伍立祺
Dr Alex Ng obtained his MBBS degree from the University of Hong Kong in 2008. He received his basic and 2 years of higher surgical ophthalmology training in the United Christian Hospital. In October 2013, he joined the Department of Ophthalmology, the University of Hong Kong as clinical assistant professor. He continued his higher surgical training in the Queen Mary Hospital and obtained his fellowship with the Hong Kong College of Ophthalmologist in 2015. He has also undergone observership at the Moorfields Eye Hospital (London, 2013), Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (Boston, 2015) and LV Prasad Eye Institute (Hyderabad, 2016). In 2016, he was awarded the Asia Cornea Society Santen Asia Educational Observership Grant for an observership at the Singapore National Eye Centre.
Dr Ng’s current research interests include corneal collagen crosslinking, cataract and refractive surgeries and myopia control. He had more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals and presents regularly at international conferences. He also serves as an editor in the Hong Kong Journal of Ophthalmology and is a regular reviewer of several international journals. His awards include Dr Timothy Kai-Ching Liu Memorial Fund Award (2015), Asia-Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology Meeting Travel Grant (2015), Asia Cornea Society Santen Asia Educational Observership Grant Award (2016), Distinguished Young Fellow Award of the College of Ophthalmologists of Hong Kong (2016) and the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) & Singapore Society of Ophthalmology Young Ophthalmologist Award.
