Dorothy Tang is an assistant professor in the Division of Landscape Architecture. Her research investigates the role of landscape strategies at the intersection of everyday operations and large scale systems by exploring the relationships between productive landscapes, infrastructure, and ecological systems through a cultural lens.
Prior to joining the Faculty of Architecture, Dorothy was an associate at Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates in New York City where she was a key member of the design team for the award winning Brooklyn Bridge Park. Brooklyn Bridge Park is an 85-acre park located on the post-industrial waterfront of Brooklyn. Dorothy’s work focused on reinventing infrastructure for sound attenuation and stormwater harvesting throughout the park.
Dorothy received her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture with Distinction from Iowa State University and her Master in Landscape Architecture with Distinction from Harvard University. While at Harvard, she was the recipient of the Honor Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects and was the alternate for the Charles Eliot Traveling Fellowship.
