Dr. Chan graduated from the University of Hong Kong and pursued post-graduate training in Head & Neck Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong. He subsequently subspecialized in Head & Neck oncology surgery, and became the chief of the Division of Head & Neck Surgery as well as the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in 2010. Dr. Chan’s main research work is on nasopharyngeal carcinoma, particularly on the surgical treatment and translational research of recurrent tumours. He is also interested in research regarding the management of carcinoma of the larynx and hypopharynx. He is currently the Executive Management Committee of the Area of Excellence Scheme, Centre for Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Research, Hong Kong, as well as the President of the Hong Kong Head & Neck Society.
