Objectives
To calculate the electronic structure and optical propertites using a scheme that includes multiple-excitation configuration interaction. To further test and establish the connection between SWCNTs and π-conjugated polymers, both of which are Carbon-based quasi-one-dimensional systems. To explain the recent experiments that can only be understood beyond single-excitation picture. To model and explain the effect of external field on semiconducting SWCNTs.
