Objectives
To examine the role of magnesium tanshinoate B (MTB), a bioactive compound isolated from Danshen, in cardiovascular disease. Specifically, the project will investigate the effect of MTB on stress-activated protein kinase signalling pathway (shown to mediate apoptosis), on the lipoprotein-SAP kinase interaction, and on gene expression pattern after ischaemia/reperfusion.
