Objectives
To test the hypothesis that in endothelial cells the intracellular Ca+2 store, presumably the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), effectively communicate with the plasmalemmal Ca+2 channels; to test the hpothesis that Ca+2 entry in endothelial cells utilizes non-selective cation channels; to test the hypothesis that [beta]-adrenoceptor agonists interact with endothelial cells by lowering the intracellular Ca+2; to test the above hypotheses in vascular muscle tissues by simultaneous measurement of fura-2 fluorescence and tension development.
