Objectives
To develop programmes that provide on-screen simulation of laboratory experiments and tutorial exercises that achieve some or all of the following: (1) permit execution of an experiment or a problem in a direct and convenient interactive fashion; (2) use realistic animated diagrams that provide an inspiring environment for the user; (3) allow students to 'discover' classical laws in the area of geotechnical engineering in ways that were not previously possible owing to the extensive effort required in preparation and subsidiary details necessary to conduct the work.
