Objectives
The elderly people in Hong Kong are not a static group and their living conditions have changed rapidly in the last few years; will these changing trends be continuing, and what are the factors leading to these changing trends, and how could our society prepare for these changes? Without sufficient information on the changing trends, many public policies, health care and social services may be irrelevant or inappropriate when introduced; we plan to make a systematic study of this cohort, the results ofwhich will inform public policy making and give us insight into the nature of our society.
